Camping Manjastre, August 2012

Well, here we are again.    Camping Manjastre.    Our favourite campsite.   And right at this moment I am sitting in the bar area, looking out over the pool and surrounding bush.    Perfect surroundings, made more perfect by the fact that the children have returned to school, and the adults have returned to work.   Only the retirees and people taking late holidays are left, to enjoy the lovely September sunshine.

And luckily the weather has improved here, and it is warm again, although the temperature of the water in the pool will never return to 26 degrees.  We have just experienced 14 hours or more of heavy rain, after a severe mistral, which blew the annex down on Donna's caravan, no damage thank goodness.     And the temperature fell, to such a degree that we needed to wear our track suits.   It was even warmer in the UK, most unusual.

Yes, we have been down here since Friday the 17th August, holidaying with the newly weds, Donna and Patrick.    All of us, Donna, Patrick, Walter, me,  Lucy, Emma, Steve, Jackson and Isabel.   It is called honeymooning, family style.   And also for Patrick, it was an introduction to camping, or more appropriately, glamping.       I think he enjoyed himself, except for the mosquitoes.    But they have all left now, the family that is, unfortunately not the mosquitoes, and we are on our own, Walter and I, relaxing with all the other lucky campers.

So my blogs will be in retrospect, and I will be able to relive a lovely holiday, as I write each one.

Our campsite.    This photograph was taken when the temperature reached 40 degrees, which was a little too hot, but we managed to cool off in the swimming pool or by sitting in the shade.

The beautiful swimming pool, surrounded by the bush clad hills.
The family resting in the afternoon heat.
Dusk!   Coolness!   And time for some beer or wine, plus food of course.
Perfect.
