Cape Jervis and Victor Harbour

We had a day touring around the Fleurieu Peninsula, in perfect sunshine.    First stop was Cape Jervis, which is at the tip of the peninsula.    This is where the ferry leaves for Kangaroo Island, which is a short trip across the straits.    This can be a very treacherous and rough piece of water, and not to be taken lightly, in a small boat.    On this particular day the water was very smooth, and perfect for a sea crossing.
Cars lined up ready for the next ferry crossing.
The lighthouse at Cape Jervis.
We drove across the peninsula, until we arrived at the viewpoint above Victor Harbour, and saw the bay stretch out in front of us.
Then we looked the other way and saw a kangaroo and a joey hopping across the dry paddocks.    Can you find them?
Looking towards one of the islands in the bay.
The jetty over to Granite Island, with the camels waiting on the beach for some customers.    A ride on a camel.   Beats donkey rides on English beaches.
Looking back towards the town of Victor Harbour, with the majestic Norfolk pine trees, so beloved of the seafronts in South Australia.
The toilet block.    Very picturesque.
The street fronts with the shady verandahs.    So important in a hot climate.
After a delicious, but rather fatty meal, of fish and chips, we drove back through the dry hills, to Aldinga Beach.
