Cholesterol - the wrong type

We are on the dry.  No more alcohol, for the foreseeable future that is, anyway.

Too many years, of partaking of the wrong type of food and good wine, and hey presto, one finds that the cholesterol level has gone up.   And it is never the good type of cholesterol either.

In Walter's case the alcohol is causing something called 'fatty liver',  so to reverse the situation he has to stop drinking alcohol, any alcohol, for four months    No exceptions either, such as red wine being good for him.  In my case it is just a food problem, but I think the wine is not helping with the slowing rising cholesterol levels.

So on our trip to the two countries where wine, and excellent wine at that, flows like water, we will be asking for water.  And trying not to be boring about it.   This will be a challenge.

So instead of comparing the beautiful red wine, from different regions in Australia and New Zealand, we will be comparing the sparkling water available from the supermarkets.

But at least we can still drink our coffee, with skinny milk of course, and there is excellent coffee in both countries.   Thank goodness.
