An early morning walk by the sea

As a change from our early morning circular walk through the bush by the campsite, we hopped into the car at 7 a.m. and drove to Le Lavandou, in order to walk along the seafront.    No hills today, so no brisk exercise, but the joy of walking beside the sea, in the cool morning air, made up for the lack of exercise.

A photo taken, against the early morning sun, gave the foreground a silhouette effect.
We saw the bars and lounge chairs being set up.
A beautifully groomed beach, just like the pistes on a ski slope.
A tower block!    Glittering in the morning sun.   I am not sure how the developers of this building received planning permission.    An ugly building, reminiscent of a housing estate in a city.   But typical of the haphazard development in the south of France, during the 1970s and 1980s.
The sun now a little higher in the sky.
A deserted snack bar and cafe, which must have done a roaring trade in its time, but superseded by all the temporary bars, and cafes, which have been set up on the sand.   All for the holidays.   And of course they also have sunloungers for rent as well.
Looking back towards Le Lavandou, with the groomed beach in front.
And towards the port of Bormes, again with a long stretch of groomed sand.   Everything so clean and tidy in the mornings.   The cleaning and grooming machines must be out before dawn, I think.
And back home in time for breakfast, or breakfast in Le Centre, petit dejeuner complet, which consists of coffee, baguette, jam and a croissant.
A perfect way to start the day.
