Clyde , Central Otago

After visiting Wanaka, we set off with Margaret and Gordon to visit David and Catherine in their lovely holiday home in Clyde.  And you could be forgiven if you think it was a showhome,  owned by a building company.  Up until a year ago this house was indeed a showhome,  so David and Catherine bought a new house, that already came with a landscaped garden, and carpets (even in the garage) and curtains in every room.

A few minor alterations and then they moved into the house.  Certainly the way to go.
Catherine asked Gordon for advice about the trees planted by the landscaping firm.  Walter listened with rapt attention, and took note, so that he can assist with our garden.
David planted his birthday present from Margaret and Gordon, two beautiful pink ericas.
Margaret spent time throwing the ball to Lucy, the dog.  Lucy takes ages to get tired.  Good exercise for the arm and shoulder.  Yes Walter, your turn to throw the ball next.
Lucy, the dog, so lovable, and very patient.
The very comfortable lounge, kitchen and dining room.  So light and warm.
The peaceful front lounge room.
David and Gordon trimmed the front buxus hedge.  Very straight lines too.  Most impressed. Yet again Walter was there to learn a few tricks so that he can trim our hedges back in the UK.  Margaret steadied Walter so that he did not fall over, after having acquired so much important information which we will use in our garden. Fantastic.

Seriously though, Margaret and Walter posed for the photograph. And they look really good too. David was the one who was more interested in admiring his straight hedge.  One must get their priorities right!
A lovely day, a little cold, but the sun was beginning to shine through the clouds.
