Collinson's Cottage

A full week and no blogs. Initially this was due to having no internet, but mostly it was due to visiting people, and doing lots of talking and eating.   It has been fantastic being with my family.   Always very enjoyable, but very hard to leave them again.

My first blog - Collinson's Cottage in Wanaka.   We left there a week ago.   Collinson's Cottage is owned  by my brother, Brian, and sister in law, Susanne.   They also have bed and breakfast accommodation in their house, a studio, and a two story apartment.

Brian standing in one of his 'outdoor rooms'.
Brian visits the local recycling depot to find bits and pieces, with which to create paintings and sculptures in the garden.   A very creative person.
Ping, the cat, resting in her favourite place amongst the warm grasses.
Balls of  buxus.  He is also able to dig them up and move them, without killing them.   Very clever.
Wire netting shaped into balls and spray painted.  Clouds of lavender in the garden.
 The Japanese garden, I think.
 A peaceful sculpture.
The apartment, complete with three bedrooms, a lounge and kitchen.   I would love this building for my home.
 A blue barbed wire ball.
 A painting made from driftwood.
Very peaceful.
And the view of the mountains, from the front windows of the house, is superb.
More information and photographs are available on Brian and Susanne's site, www.collinsonscottage.co.nz
