Goteborg (Gothenburg), Sweden

Another place, another camping ground.  This time, it is Camping Liseberg, on the outskirts of Goteborg.  A large camping ground, but quiet and with excellent facilities, plus the most amazing playground.  But we have no children.

The sites are small, a strip of asphalt for the vans and a small piece of grass between each van, which is fine if all the vans are European.   But our van is English with the door on the other side, so we look into our neighbours annex, everytime we open our door.   Lots of smiles are exchanged, plus a few friendly words.
The weather is beautiful, and warm.   We even had the airconditioner on, when driving here.   So drinkies outside, on the other side of the caravan, sitting close to the fresh and waste water containers.   Very scenic.
A day of minor problems, but all fixed thank goodness.   We moved the caravan to the car, using the caravan mover.   What showoffs!   But then could not hitch up, due to one of the Alko pressure pads falling onto the ground.   Such a small circular thing.   But what to do.  We thought it went up into the top of the hitchlock, and of course it would not work.   Two men came over to help.   Other campers are always helpful.   In the end we put the pad into car, and hitched up without it.   But in the meantime did not raise the jockey wheel properly which clanked a bit as we exited the camping area.  Luckily we stopped further up the road, and raised it correctly.  Not a cool way to leave.

There were no problems, driving without the pressure pad, although the caravan hitch squeaked a bit at times.  Walter read the instructions when we arrived and found out there were four pressure pads, and they were on the sides of the hitch, not at the top.   No wonder it would not fit.   Walter has since fitted it back in correctly.   So we now have four pads again, all in their correct places.

Later on this afternoon we noticed water running from under the caravan onto the road, which meant one of us having to slide under the van, to reconnect the kitchen waste pipe.  Walter volunteered, thank you Walter.   The pipe must have started to come lose, when we drove to Voss, last Wednesday.   On that day, we went over a very rough piece of road.   But all fixed now.   Hopefully it will last until we get home.

We also had a slight disagreement, well a few words anyway, about how low the steadies should go, in relation to the raised tow bar.   The ground slopes down towards the road.   But we came to an understanding in the end, just as well.

Swedish meatballs for dinner.   We feel so much better now.

Tomorrow the Volvo Museum.   We could not find the Ikea Museum, so thought the Volvo Museum would be the next best thing.
