The Return of the Motorhome

The motorhome has returned.   Hurray.   After six months at the motorhome repairers, we have finally collected it.   It looks wonderful.   A new shiny white roof, and newly painted trim around the bottom.   The trim used to be black, and hard to maintain, so we paid some extra money to have it painted, together with a slight repair to the back where Walter flipped the power cord out of its socket, accidently of course.

Sadly the same care and attention was not taken with cleaning up the inside of the van.   Can you imagine someone coming into your loungeroom to replace windows.   And due to not being able to do it for a couple of months, left open gaps, so that the damp air, and dust from outside settled in the room.   And then when the windows were finally put in, the person stood on the edge of the couch, breaking the arm.    Well that was the sight that greeted us when we opened the door of the motorhome.

There was dust, and dirt, everywhere, and everything was damp, plus the edge of the seat was broken.  We had noticed the dirt and dust when we collected our things from the motorhome the previous week, but we presumed it would be cleaned before we collected it.
Walter quickly sorted it all out, and before I left there were two men vacuming the van out, and repairing the broken seat edge.   Then the manager deducted £100 from our bill, to compensate for the mess.  Walter was mollified a little by this gesture, but we will not be recommending this repair place, or in fact seeking their services again.

So the van is now sitting in our storage place, awaiting a further clean out, in preparation for selling it.  The seats and curtains are at home, drying out, before I attack them with a good cleaner.
We have finally moved everything out of the motorhome, and most of it is in the caravan or car.   It is amazing just how much we managed to fit into that little motorhome, whilst keeping to the weight limit.

The scene of the accident, where I damaged the luton by trying to change lanes.  Now there are no queues of trucks to cause frustration, or provide temptation to move lanes.  Just free flowing traffic.  We have electronic tolls.   Too late for the motorhome.
