On Monday evening we visited Summer and Phil Bowles at their beautiful house in Millswood. There were four generations of Summer's family there, Shirley, Sue, Summer and brother Hamish, and Summer and Phil's three children, Zara, Hope and Axel.
So much to catch up on, and we met Hope and Axel for the first time. We certainly had plenty to talk about. It is best not to divulge just how many years we have known each other, but I can remember when Shirley was a young grandmother, Sue was a young mother and Summer was a baby. And I remember the day that Hamish was born. Oh how the years roll on, too quickly.
Sue giving the youngest member of the family his dinner.
Shirley and I catching up on all the news, whilst drinking our favourite wine (mine is temporarily sitting on the coffee table), with Zara posing between us.Hope disappeared outside to play in a plastic container of water. It was very hot and I think she needed to cool off. She was very wet by the time she finished.
Summer and Phil have a very large garden at the back of the house, which they have paved and landscaped. It is such a lovely quiet and safe place for the children to play in.
The front garden is also huge, as is the house, which is very rambling.
The outside dinning area has only recently been completed, and already a great hit. Left to right is Sue, Axel in his buggy, Phil, Shirley, Hamish, Summer and Walter.
Summer and Phil cooked a most delicious barbeque, followed by an equally delicious lemon cheese cake. The evening went by too quickly and before we knew it, it was time to leave. We reluctantly said goodbye, before travelling back down to Aldinga Beach.
