Gawler

We are currently living in luxury, a huge (by UK terms) and beautifully furnished house, all to ourselves.   Walter is sitting in the TV viewing room and I am sitting in a small lounge, which is attached to the kitchen and eating area.    We have hardly spoken to each other.   After weeks of living together in a tiny camper van and in Darren's small flat, this is bliss!   We are loving it!

The house is set up in the hill overlooking the town of Gawler, so we also get wonderful views of the surrounding countryside, the sun sets, and the lights at night.
I made good use today of the very comfortable sofa on the patio.   And had a very long snooze.
The back garden, with very loaded olive trees in the back left corner.
Our responsibility while we are here.   Lily, the cat, who is very friendly, and loves her food.
Today we went down into the town of Gawler, which is full of charming buildings.   Gawler, is now almost an outlying suburb of Adelaide, but once was a very wealthy centre for the farming community.   Gawler is still the entry to the Barossa Valley.

We ate lunch at The Southern Hotel, which was certainly good value for money, and the food was pretty good to eat too.
Another hotel, with wrought iron balustrades and ornate verandah.   Walter taking a rest, after his substantial lunch.
The Blues Brothers.   On sale at $1,000 for the two.  Just what one needs in their lounge room!
See you soon Andreena and John.    We loved looking after Lily for you.
