Lunches and Dinners

We have been spending a lot of time this week catching up on people, which has included eating a lot of food, all very delicious of course.   And it is definitely not good for the waistline.  We are both becoming fatter and fatter.   But all the food is so irresistible.   Australians are such good chefs.    And they have lovely fresh food to use in their recipes.

Stan and Moira came to Darren's house for lunch yesterday.   We had a lovely time, sitting outside in the shade, catching up with all the news, and comparing notes about travelling.   We also went for a drive around Port Willunga and Aldinga Beach.
Moira and Stan relaxing in Darren's lounge room.
Last Sunday we went to Helen and Jim's house in West Lakes Shore.    Their son David also came to visit them.    He is the same age as Darren so there was lots for them to talk about and catch up with.    We had not seen Helen and Jim for about 6 years, so we really enjoyed seeing them again.   Unfortunately I only remembered to take a photo when it was nearly dark.
We met up with Joan at the Henley Beach Hotel, on a very hot day.    I used to work with Joan, and her sister Margaret, at Magill Primary School.     Sadly, Margaret died in 1997.     But it was lovely to meet up with Joan and reminisce about our time at Magill Primary School.    We also had much to catch up with about our respective schools since then, and it is hard to believe that 20 years have passed since we worked together.   I forgot to take a photo of us though due to too much talking.

We also went to Billie-Joe's for dinner on Wednesday evening, which included a walk around Willunga, and guess what, I forgot to take the camera.   I am really slipping up.   The area around Billie-Joe's house is really beautiful too.
